GOD IS PATIENT

In the beginning, the elohim created skies and earth.

Welcome back. Let's think about God as patient.

In 1 Corinthians 13 Paul writes, “Love is patient and kind.”

Please forgive me. It astonishes me so much to consider the possibility that God is kind that I skipped, “God is patient” altogether. I’ll try to not let that happen again.

Now, let us consider the following logic:  “Love is patient. God is love. Therefore, God is patient.”

Below is a description of the Greek word translated “longsuffering” or “patient” from biblestudytools.com:

to be of a long spirit, not to lose heart to persevere patiently and bravely in enduring misfortunes and troubles to be patient in bearing the offenses and injuries of others to be mild and slow in avenging to be longsuffering, slow to anger, slow to punish In the Latin Vulgate the Greek word is translated as “patiens.”

Now, let us imagine God as being all that.
