A SABBATH BLESSING

Jesus revealed a more humane purification before God than what was being practiced by other Jews. He touched, was touched, and healed those who, according to Mosaic Law, were defiled. Many whom Jesus touched had not yet purified themselves, but Jesus acted toward them as if their uncleanness was nothing.

With his kind of being kosher in mind, I pray this Sabbath prayer for you:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord sustain your courage and strength through the bad times. May you celebrate your joy during the good times.

May this day of rest that Jesus observed find you resting. May you find a day to turn aside from work if you must work today. May the Lord give you rest within and without during those times you need it most.

May you bless someone who in our society is unclean. May you see that person through the eyes of our God of love. May you be happy with such sight. May you be happy in what you give.

May the Lord's love replace all your guilt and anxiety about your own sense of being unclean.

Blessings...
